I wrote a thesis on a cultural analysis of the urban Irish American landscape. My thesis presentation will consist of a brief overview of this topic and a more in-depth analysis of my findings from my literature review and my primary research. I will provide the social, economic, and political context of Irish America. The presentation will then focus on Irish American life of specific Irish American neighborhoods in New York City and Boston. I will talk about the Irish patterns of settlement as well as their geographic relationship with other ethnic communities and parts of the city. This presentation will emphasis the geographic basis for this study as well as the role geography plays in studying Irish America.

My presentation will include various visual components. I will rely on maps, charts, graphs, photographs, and light text in my presentation. My hope is to deliver an engaging presentation that will allow my audience to visualize the communities and neighborhoods that I will be discussing.
